November Election

With wind at our backs after the Kansas victory for reproductive rights, we have targeted several important federal and local races where we can make a difference using proven strategies.

Elections have consequences particularly for women in the post-Roe world, and we will not be silent.

Postcards

Our intrepid group of postcard writers will be preparing 8,000 postcards to support critical races, and we need your help. Postcards have been found to increase participation by 1-3%, a margin that often makes the difference. We will be supporting three local races – Sharon Shewmake, Alicia Rule, and Joe Timmons, on one card. Boosting the three candidates together is the best strategy, especially for the lesser known candidates.

Washington’s 8th Congressional District Representative, Dr. Kim Shrier, is one of our reproductive rights champions, and we cannot lose even one House seat. She is in a tough race and we will be sending postcards to her district in cooperation with a state group, Postcards4WA.

Nationally, we are working to get information to black voters in North Carolina with Reclaim Our Vote. NC is still very swingy and we want to make sure these voters have all the information they need. Finally, we are writing in AZ for the same reason we are phone banking there (see below), a state that has so much at stake for our democracy.

Phone Banking to Arizona

We are working in partnership with Indivisible Port Townsend to run a team of Bellingham phone bankers. Arizona has critical races with Sen. Mark Kelly leading the ticket, but many down ballot races that feature conspiracy theorists vying for positions of power. We will operate a team lead by a skilled political trainer to help you along the way. Indivisible Bellingham’s Core Crew co-leader, Andrew Shelton, has worked on political campaigns and he is here to make sure you feel confident, are able to call voters, and be successful.

Our Indivisible Network has a direct line to the AZ organizers, and we have constant updates with the people working in the field there. Phone banking costs nothing and is the next most effective outreach to door knocking. Callers will be able to leave messages on voicemail in this campaign, and we are hearing that as the general election nears, more people are curious and picking up their calls. Every vote counts in these tight races!

Donations

If you cannot call or write, please consider making a donation toward stamps. Our writers spend a lot of their time and money, but you can help get more handwritten postcards in the mail with a donation to Indivisible Bellingham. As always, your donations go directly to actions. We have no overhead and every donation will help us get postcards to voters. You can write us a check or use this link to donate on our website. DONATE – Indivisible Bellingham.
