We’ll be offering postcard programs right up until the election, and will even hold some in-person events where you can meet and chat while you write. For more information, email us at IndivisibleBellingham@gmail.com, mention postcarding and your contact info., and we’ll reply.

Deep Canvassing
Deep canvassing is a two-way empathic and non-judgemental conversation between canvassers and voters focused on structuring the voter’s beliefs. Canvassers use this method to engage voters in a conversation and get them to a mutual understanding by providing alternative perspectives. The strategy involves:
- Sharing your experience and getting the conversation started
- Listening to voters, getting them thinking and sharing
- Highlighting common humanity
Planned Parenthood
Help elect candidates statewide who will protect reproductive freedoms:
- Sign up with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Greater Washington and North Idaho to be notified of Fall events supporting local repro rights champions
- Find national actions at BansOff.org
- Share your story at together.plannedparenthood.org/articles/6-share-abortion-story
Indivisible’s Truth Brigade
How do we combat online disinformation, misinformation, and mal-information? DO NOT respond directly; it just amplifies their hate-misinformation. Rather, learn to bust bad information with a “Truth Sandwich.”
- DISCOVER: State truthful common ground/shared values
- DISRUPT: Cause a pause! Prompt critical thought: question motives and sources
- DREAM: Restate truth and inspire with action/emotion/hook

Armchair Activism
It doesn’t take walking, driving, flying, or money to take action from your kitchen table or your computer or phone.
Indivisible Vashon has created an amazing matrix of actions you can take from your armchair and contribute your time, energy, and/or your dollars for the fight to save democracy. Be sure to check out their 2024 Battleground States Matrix.
Greed Initiatives
On the November 2024 ballot, Washington voters will have FOUR terrible initiatives
that need to be rejected. Brian Heywood, a millionaire hedge fund manager who moved to Washington from out of state, invested $5 million to hire paid signature gatherers to get these on the ballot.

The Whatcom Undaunteds Indivisible group is championing an amendment of the county code to streamline healthcare policy in Whatcom County. Rock Painting
Our rock painting with Get Out the Vote messages started four years go. Adults and kids have fun painting messages on rocks which are then placed around town – a gentle reminder for people to exercise their voice and power, and vote. If you’d like to join in this fun activity, let us know via email, mention rock painting and your contact info., and we’ll send you details on our next get-together: IndivisibleBellingha@gmail.com.

Sign Waving
Indivisible Bellingham has participated in this volunteer effort for candidates and issues for several years. If you’re interested, we usually gather on a busy street corner and spend an hour waving signs and flags at passers-by, eliciting honks of approval. If you’d like to be alerted when we plan on one of these fun activities, just email us, mention sign waving and your contact info., and we’ll reply. : IndivisibleBellingha@gmail.com.

Donations
As much as we’d love to have you involved in an activity this year, some folks just don’t have the time or energy and prefer to let a donation do the talking. Fewer than 1% of American adults donate to political campaigns, but you know, just about every big corporation donates.
Consider buying one less coffee, or beer, or streaming service, and pick a favorite candidate to support now through the November election. You’ll feel great knowing you made a difference.
